For the second salon of the “UNBIRTHDAY” group of hair salons, the owner’s philosophy of “treating ordinary things with care and enriching ordinary days” was the basis for the realization of the seemingly contradictory concept of “home” and “store”.

Harmonizing different elements while sprinkling the owner’s hobbies throughout, such as Islamic patterned tiles, American doors, African folk art masks, subtropical forest patterned cloth, and pink plastered walls, an original and diverse space was created. The four color palettes of navy, brown, gray, and white were skillfully used in each area to add depth to the space while avoiding a decorative impression.

The facade takes full advantage of the street-front location, creating depth through a combination of window glass and door setbacks. The interior is gently zoned by eliminating partition walls as much as possible and utilizing wooden shelves and louvers made of structural plywood. By cleverly using different materials to compose the space, we succeeded in connecting the entire space while maintaining visibility and the flow of light. The project precisely supported the owner’s self-production and sublimated it into the design while maintaining sensory balance.
