We were in charge of the design and construction of a gelato store that opened in the port city of Kobe. The concept was to create a peaceful and comfortable space with classic European details, as if a ship visiting the city on a sea voyage dropped its anchor chain and anchored.

To represent a port town, the main colors are navy and white, and a neutral color scheme was adopted to accommodate Gelato’s diverse and rich color palette. While skillfully combining five materials (tile, mortar, wood, stainless steel, and iron), the white marble tiles on the floor and American-made neon lights create an expansive and unique rhythm.

Following the owner’s request, ” I want the space to be connected not only in reality but also online,” a design and layout that facilitates framing for photography was incorporated, and the design extends to the online development of the space. The showcase became the main focus of the space, with a variety of gelato types and colors, and the facade was designed as a landmark location in the city with a large signboard & hand painted signage.
