“Lounge Oto” opened in Sakai City, Osaka, a city rich in history and culture. We pursued a simple, modern design that is both extraordinary and relaxing. The color scheme of “black, brown, and white” and materials reflect the owner’s preferences to the maximum extent possible, and the attention to detail has sublimated the space into something original.

The continuous framing of the wood panels on the walls creates a space that looks as if it is surrounded by abstract minimal art. The tile behind the counter is a large format tile that visually creates a gentle rhythm, and the counter has a corrugated R shape to stimulate communication.

While the overall goal was to create a dynamic space, the detailed materials, construction, and indirect lighting were skillfully used to add depth to the space. We attempted to create a space with a contradictory appeal, creating a sense of the extraordinary in the lounge and bringing a sense of exuberance in a calm atmosphere.
